With temperatures cooling off to a paltry 87°F today, we are beginning to see some of the effects of last week's extreme heat wave. Thus far greens have held up quite well for the most part but, those holes that we traditionally have issues with have seen a slight bit of decline. The forecast for the next week looks very similar to last week's although not quite as hot, with high temperatures in the low 90's and low's in the mid 70's. The lower temperatures here today afforded us the opportunity to vent greens and allow carbon dioxide to exit the soil and oxygen to enter the soil. This venting process should provide some relief as we head into our next stretch of this heat wave. Below is a photo of the venting process being performed on Hole #1 green.
